Program Summary:

This course explores digital dentures and advanced prosthetic solutions through the lens of a maxillofacial prosthodontist. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the capabilities and clinical applications of digital dentures, including how to integrate them into practice, what outcomes to anticipate, and common challenges to address. The course will also cover the range of maxillofacial prosthetic options, best practices for managing patients with a history of head and neck radiation, and strategies for the long-term maintenance of maxillofacial prostheses


Brief Speaker Biography:

Dr. Paul Canallatos is a current maxillofacial prosthodontist at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. He works closely with surgeons, especially the head and neck department at ECMC to fabricate prosthetics throughout patient’s treatments of head and neck cancer. He obtained his doctor of dental surgery degree at University at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, he was awarded a certificate of completion of general practice residency from Roswell Park Cancer Institute and certificate of completion of an implant fellowship from University at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine. While completing his implant fellowship he was an assistant professor at University at Buffalo, as well, as working in a private practice. He continued to West Virginia University where he completed his advanced prosthodontics specialty training in conjunction with a masters in science. The final step in his formal education was at University of California, Los Angeles where a fellowship in maxillofacial prosthetics was completed. He specializes in maxillofacial prosthetics and digital dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American College of Prosthodontist, and American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. He is published in Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and Journal of Prosthodontics, as well as a current reviewer of Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry
