Program Summary:

Cone beam CT (CBCT) imaging has quickly gained footing as the modality of choice for diagnosis and treatment planning in dentistry over the last two decades. As with conventional dentoalveolar modalities, the dentist is responsible for all information gathered on the image. Evaluation of the entire volume is imperative for patient care and, with such, a comprehensive understanding of common incidental findings is important. This program will review the most commonly found incidental findings on CBCT imaging.

Course Objectives:

-          Understand basic CBCT physics and radiation safety

-          Recognize common incidental findings in CBCT volumes

-          Identify referral patterns for incidental findings
